A lot of women in the dating scene are concerned about what to wear when going out on that hot date. And with good reason. What one wears on a date can actually spell the difference between landing a man and well, landing elsewhere.
You see, dating is about getting to know a person. This is especially true for the first date. What you wear on that crucial first date will more often than not create a lasting impression on your date. So here are some dressing tips to keep in mind.

  • A general rule when shopping for clothes is to pick those that help you exude confidence. We aren't saying you should show off some skin. Well, not too much at least. On the other hand, it wouldn't really help if you were to hide it altogether. Learn to strike a balance. The best way is to choose an outfit that reflects your personality-albeit "toned down" if necessary.

  • It would also be a good idea to skim through the latest fashion magazines. This would give you an idea of what's hot and stylish. Word of warning though. Do not wear anything that doesn't suit your figure or personality. Nothing is worse than a person who tries too hard to be fashionable--when she clearly isn't.

  • At the same time, buy clothes that you can use every day. Don't buy clothes simply for that one date. Rule of thumb here is to pick out something that is comfortable. And which makes you look and feel good about yourself.

  • By the same token, such clothes will definitely bring out the best in you. Not only will you feel comfortable on the date (a must, by the way). You will also look your best for your date.

  • Know what kind of men you want to attract. Don't wear clothes that expose too much skin. This may give your date the wrong impression. Remember: strike a balance.

  • It would also be an excellent idea to know where you'll be going. This would help you choose an appropriate outfit. Nothing can be more embarrassing than being dressed inappropriately. It is usually best to go the "smart casual" route. This more often than not sits well almost anywhere.

So take a minute to know more about "smart dressing" when dating. As the saying goes: "the clothes make the (woman)". And hopefully, makes the date a successful one.
