Choosing Sunglasses That Suit You
Oval face: Just like with selecting a haircut, an oval face is the (ahem) "ideal", meaning that most shapes will fit you. Go nuts, ye of the blessed face shape!
Round face:You will want frames that make your face look longer & slimmer. Frames that are equal to or a little wider compared to broadest part of your face can help achieve this. You can include some definition by going for frames that are quite angular or rectangular fit.
Diamond face: As your face is very angular naturally, oval-shaped sunglasses will soften you. You can also try gently curved square frames. You'll look best if the frames are not any wider than your cheekbones.
Square face: You can lessen the squareness of your face by putting on frames that are soft & curvy with a strong shape. Cat's-eye frames are ideal, as are ovals & round shapes. Oblong face: Frames shouldn't extend past the widest area of your face. You should choose round & square shapes as this will widen & shorten your face.
Triangle/heart shape: The aim is to make the jaw look narrower, & the easiest way to do that is as simple as accenting the eye region. Cat's-eye styles are great as well as metal frames with rimless bottoms. Black frames seem to be the most popular choice as it pertains to eye-wear, but be cautious that it does not look too harsh on your face. Or that you do not look like Stevie Wonder. (It is easier than you would imagine.)
You shouldn't be afraid of sunglasses with colored frames, especially if they're in a color you wear often. I once owned some of turquoise sunglasses that we absolutely cherished... but one day they broke. That isn't the point. Experiment! Put on some colorful sunglasses; they have a tendency to be much more interesting than the others.
If black looks too harsh & colour isn't your thing, try brown or tortoiseshell. Even if you do not wear brown EVER, they are a good choice because they're neutral. Believe me, they are effective with any ensemble. My best sunglasses tip is: go to a department store having a huge range. Take a camera. Photograph yourself in a variety of styles (or have your friend do it if you're too embarrassed to pose alone). Most sales assistants with a clue won't mind. Just say you would like to possess a think about it. Before leaving, be sure to get the model number of those you like. Then search EBay for the similar ones. I bought my Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses (which I LOVE) for 1/3 of the cost my local department store wanted. (When purchasing off EBay, check the seller's feedback to make certain they are not selling fakes.) For the fashionable, the word in the pub is that big round sunglasses are venturing out of style. Of course, it doesn't mean you have to stop putting them on, but it Entails it's going to be harder to buy them. If you are a fan, as I'm, I suggest you snap 'em up soon. A great deal of people think you ought to have two pairs of sunglasses - one for casual attire & one pair that is much more glamourous. Some of you'll think this is excessive, however, many of you'd feel under-prepared with only two pairs. I have more pairs of sunglasses than I care to count, but only three that I wear regularly. Oh, okay, four. Getting contact lenses a couple of years back means I will actually wear sunglasses, & after years of OPPRESSION I embrace the opportunity! |
